Wait a while before you buy vertex. I had a heck of a time with their dosing pumps :-(

That in itself has become a problem for me. Neptune seems to be on their high horse and will no longer play nice in the sand box -- the only losers are their customers who thought they were buying a controller that could control everything (except gear that competes with theirs, such as the Vectra).

With regards to the Cerebra, I'd wait for V2. I don't see saving money on something that could end up being junk.

I totally agree with you on Apex - the full functionality is only there for their own devices (all the modes they offer for their pumps could also work for others that are controllable via the 0-10V outputs). And the water changing pump (AKA Dos) is a total overkill as a dosing pump...

Not sure if I'm gonna give the Cerebra a try - I don't want to replace Lucifer with Beelzebub and end up where I started, just with a lot less money...
I may rather give Reef Angel a try. At least that is based on an open platform that allows you to do whatever you want (and is within your capabilities as programmer)
