Home Depot lighting

I don't know what the inside of every fixture in Home Depot looks like. You may be able to see a picture or description of the lamp on the box. Most Home Depot fixtures do not have double ended lamps like in the site you sent. Just look at the lamp in the fixture at HD and see what it looks like. You can't mix sodium with MH so be sure the fixture you buy is metal halide and not mercury or sodium. You should be able to get an aquarium suitable lamp for any HD fixture

I am sure the Home Depot lights have a ballast in the fixture.
You can remote it if you like but then you don't need to buy ready made lights, you coulkd just buy lamps, ballasts and lamps and build it yourself.

Oh, when a time comes when you dont have enough money to buy a regular (Something) you will start DIYing  trust me you will be the same.

you could also go with Compact Flourescent bulb ala Melev

I run 4 100w CP's that only draw <25w each and alot less heat then halogen or MH.
2 6500k & 2 1100k
I keep lps, inverts, macro algae, and pipefish

Also depends on what your planning on keeping in your tank? Soft,LPS,SPS, Fish only? If your planning Soft/LPS you may get away with the 100watt lights of America. Check out my old webpage under the red house. Its my old 75. All it had for lighting was 6 65 watt lights of America lights. Bob

Do you guys think that a anemone would be good under a bulb that came from a floodlight? Because, it would be okay if the true natural color didnt come out, but will it survive? The lights color is yellow because it wasnt made for aquariums.

The light is yellow because it's color spectrum is probably closer to 2,000 instead of 20,000.
It is not a good light for anemones although they may live. You really can't tell but I would get something better or don't get an anemone
