Hope Everones Ok From The Storm..

I was at UCO when that tornado in Edmond hit and everyone was standing in the halls all on our phones. Heard that tornado was on the ground for 10 mins

We lost power for about 15 minutes when the first cell hit. The tornado went about a mile to the west of us.

Hope everyone is okay!

All is well. Lost power for an hour or 2 or 3. After going through the May 3 tornado in a big way, I know how fish and coral can survive. My 220 reef back then was without power for almost a week and nothing died....I still can't believe it (no fish, coral, nothing). No battery air supply either. Granted this was May and temp was not an issue, but to just sit for that long was amazing. Needless to say I had other priorities with a totaled house.

If I loose power for a few hours, I am never concerned after experiencing that. Never the less, I fired up the whole house generator anyway this afternoon.

Gotta love modern technology. I was at a Dentist office client in Edmond and all the women in the office were freaking out, could not call anyone using cell phones as they were locked up.

our school went on lockdown lol. my parents came and got me so i didnt haev to waiste my night there but the busses didnt go until like 5. i also completely hate tornados, so i was glued to channel 3 watching the news, and going oh my god, its like 100 miles long! the storms are still going to visit edmond i think.

My office is on the NW oath they kept taking, not far from Ed's job, but all was well. Lots of hail and rain at home according to neighbors. We'll see about the roof in a few days.

Hey Ed, did you say so long to Chucky Cheese?

Anyone want to see some pictures? By the way, I work at NW Expressway and Rockwell.

Yes, Send them to rbb213 at sbcglobal dot net

That's one thing i don't miss about Oklahoma ;). I used to have a vacume cleaner and dewing machine store at NW. epwy and Rockwell. Glad i wasn't there. Tornados here are like little vortech skimmers lol. Never more then a hundred feet wide or so, and usually just tiny little twisters that couldn't knock down a plastic shed lol. People here still freak out like the world is coming to and end though lol.

LOL, Vaccume and sewing machine. You would think i could spell that after having a store for 4 years haha.

Yes!

Yes!

We need pictures! The storm passed two miles west of us as it blew through Edmond...

I would love to see some pictures for the NW. expressway and Rockwell area. My mother in law said they had quite a hail storm up in Guthrie.

Keep J.D. down in the Ardmore area in your thoughts and prayers. I just heard from him and he said the tornado hit there and his power is out and he may have lost his tank.

We were contacted by the National Weather Service from our Natural Disaster Response group at about 5:00 this evening, and they are confident that the twister that side swiped my store was an EF3.

We were outside, looking at it, and the wind was so strong if blew the glasses off my face.

Here are some pics about 10 seconds before the beast decided to eat building materials.

I apologize for the quality, this was my iphone, in between me wiping the water from the camera lens.

About 20 seconds after this picture, it was time to duck and cover, as we watched it uprooting trees, and spinning cars around on the ground like toys.

In between the chili's sign and the sign on the left is the business area, this is when the funnel was coming down to the ground!

I know it...I just seen that on the news...So Sad....Only in Oklahoma.....

No power for me. They predicted a day or 2. I live in an apartment complex at 150th and Penn and half of the complex is without power...my half. The power lines were snapped off and laying in the street. If it's not back on tomowow I'll rig a car battery to my powerheads to keep the tanks going. I just packed up the bird and moved over to my g/f's place until I have lights.

Thanks so much for your concern Doug. Lone Grove they locked us down last night so No comeing or going through. I just got back into my house, no power and the damage here is very bad. the last I heard it is the worst that has hit here sine the early 80's. By the looks of it now, everything is dead in my reef (several 8 plus inch fish and lots of high end coral). 10k down the drain!

sorry this is choppy, again we have yet to regain power. its a bit overwhelming trying to type on my cell as I acess the damage. Thanks again Doug for the concern! Your one of the best guy's in and out of the hobby. i'll keep everyone updated from downhere and try to get pic's if I can find the camera.
