I got a BTA 2 days ago. He seems happy, is on the bottom in the sand sort of under a rock. Question is, how long does it usually take for the clownfish to find it? I have a hybrid ocellaris and percula.

It can take a few hours to a few days to a few weeks. Sometimes years and if they're truly happy in the tank without an anmone then never. But anything can happen to surprise you:D

I have a pair of black ocellaris' that dont go near their RBTA. Its been 4 weeks. it's just a matter of time though. Tank raised clowns take much longer I have read.

I don't always think the tank raised clownfish feel the need for an anemone like wc do. Good luck. Mine never went near the first anemone I had, then it died and months later I had a cyano breakout that took me a while to conquer and believe it or not, they hosted in it!:eek2: Anywhere it popped up, they hosted it. So then I bought another anemone and it died a few months later. It never would eat for me. Unfortunately, I believe it was wc and until I see a tank raised anemone, (it has been probably a year or more since the last one died)I am too afraid to try. Now they just host my hammer. It does not seem to mind.

I just got a maroon clown and a RBTA over the weekend, and within 1 hour they were already a couple. I guess the Maroon is what you would call an "anemonie ****", as it seems like they will go to anything.
