How can you tell...

Alright folks, I have a question.

I have a Citron goby that I picked up 2/12/11 and I noticed a while back that it has a white spot on its side.

There are also a pair of dots at the base of the dorsal fin.

Now, I know you are all thinking ich, but my problem with that diagnosis is I thought ich came and went in a week or less and these spots has been on the fish for much longer than that (3+weeks).

Any idea what this spot could be? A scar maybe? More curious than anything else.

Thanks in advanced.

Dont look to scary. Many fish get ick but if your water conditions are up to par and the fish is healthy then it could fight it off easily...

That's not ich, it looks more like a simple deficiency or a scar. Common in shipped fish, may disappear in a few months.

I had one before, and it had 'spots' like that. but none ever moved.
So you had a citron goby with the same kind of spots?

Thats what I was thinking but I would rather check.

I agree with Jeff on this one.

Is his stomach really pinched or is that a fin in the way?
Actually, this fish uses his pectoral fins like a suction cup and sticks to the glass. This fish eats like a pig and will even go after stuff when I feed my corals.
