How do you know if....

Your mantis has molted?
We have a female odontodactylus scyllarus and we have her in a 20 gln tank with some live rock and a tube for her to hide in and I've never seen her actually completely close the tube like she was going to molt since we got her. We've had her since the 8th of Jan so it hasn't been that long but still, Since I'm assuming she hasn't molted, how long until she does? We feed her blue legs, shrimp, clams, and things like that...Just wondering. Thanks!!!

Depends on her size, they molt for growth and the larger they are the fewer and farther between the molts become.

Our mantis is about four inches long. She is a pig too. eats all the time. Took out one of the damsels in the tank with her when we didn't feed her that day! Now the other one is in fear and hides all the time.

nice mantis, she is a biggun'. I wouldn't worry about the molting if she is eating well, and has clean water.

Yes she does eat very well! and her water is excellent quality! Bashiba is the keeper of the tanks in the house, He cleans and stocks them and I enjoy the end results.
