How do you make zoa frags??

Ian

I <3 Corals!
I have a couple large colonies and Im wondering how you guys make 1-3 polyp frags. Razorblade and superglue??

zoo frag

zoo frag

I know zoos are toxic and i have never fraged before so i know like absolutely nothing so could someone post exactly what you need to do to frag them

Most varieties are not toxic, and there has never been a single documented case of palytoxin poisoning in the hobby.

the only way you can get poisoned is if you basically eat them. i just barehand it when i frag, but you can use some gloves if you want.

goggles or glasses help because they do squirt.
keep your mouth closed and don't wipe yournose eyes or mouth when doing these.

I just fraggeed some last week using an exacto knife. I thought that I totally ruined them, but they began to open the next day.

My first zoanthid frags and they are doing very well. If I can do it, anyone can. I used the info from zoaid.com. Very informative and step by step. I give 4 stars!!!

a guys dog died after drinking frag water...

I heard that a dog died from eating a fragged polyp. I believe that they meant no reported human deaths,.. Regardless, be very careful. It is mainly just common sense.

Have pets? Don't let them drink the water or eat the polyps? Watch what you may drop on the floor etc. Good luck!
