How good are they Hang On Overflow Box Standpipe Silencer 1 inch

I would like to know how good do they really work Hang On Overflow Box Standpipe Silencer 1 inch? My overflow box has two 1" drains and it is super loud!!!!! I was looking at buying two of them.
Any info would be great.

I cleaned my overflow and it is Nosier than ever. LOL I should have left the Crustaceans growing in it.
