How little sand can I get away with for a LTA

Thanks! It looks like a cave from that pic angle, but it's not...very little cover on the bottom of my tank since all rock is in pillar form and only the smallest portion of rock actually touches the bottom....great for flow...bad for anemones :(

Hey, it's pretty cool to see how this nem can "dig" into the sand. "Rolls" of sand seem to be forming around the foot...

Well, this morning he seemed to have moved quite a bit of sand up around his foot. Hopefully I'll come home today and find him nice and happy, and not face down on a $200 acropora :D

looks like it will be really sweet once it settles and grows! also those clowns are mint! hopefully it all works out for ya..

Thanks! Yeah, I was planning on bicinctus originally, but then these beauties showed up, and...

Well, all is well so far. The anemone is settled, but not spectacular looking just yet. No attention from the clowns either...probably a good thing while the nem is settling in.

Thanks again to everyone's input and encouragement. The anemone is totally buried in the sand now. I guess I can try feeding him now?

Well, I turned back on one of my CL outlets, thinking it would be OK now that the LTA seemed to have settled in. Wrong. He was rolling around the floor this morning :(. Do they really dislike flow? Will I ever be able to turn on those outlets again?

For now they are off, and I put him back in the box. Hopefully he'll re-attach.

Here's a pic from just yesterday:

The LTA did re attach, and looked fine when I got home from work. But this morning again, he is out of his container. Not floating this time though..seems to be squishing his foot under a rock. We'll see what happens, but I'm not hopeful. Anyone ever had an LTA long-term without sand at all?

When my lights were only PC's both my LTA and Sebae attached to rock so they could reach for light.
This lasted for about 2 yrs w/ no prob.
I've read they prefer sand, but will attach to rock when they need to.

I keep thinking how much easier it would be if I only had one!
So many times I've compared the two, which do I ditch?
But it's like picking which kid to lose at this point for me.
I saw some nice frags at OG today, good credit trade.
Oh, and congrats on SD TOTM, tank looks rad!
