Just got in two new chalices, after an hour one closed up his mouth and accepted a piece of food, the other still hasn't closed his mouth and its going on about 20 hours now, all coral in my tank are doing well, all parameters in line. The two new ones were both introduced the exact same way, one is fine, but how long before i should be worried about the other.

post a pic..

not sure exactly what you mean by the mouth is open, do you mean that the feeder tentacles are out or is the mouth "gaping" so to speak?

Corals adapting to a new tank can take days. I have had several that took almost a week.

Lighting that the coral was under before you got it, and the light its under now and where its placed make a difference, as well as how it was acclimated.

not sure what the lighting was before, they are sitting at the bottom of the tank right now, led lighting at less than half power. about 20 or so inches from the top of the tank and the lights are 12 inches above that, i have another chalice in the tank doing just fine and had no problems introducing him, his feeders were out the same night. This one has his eye or mouth open, whatever you want to call it, no feeders out, did not accept food when placed on him yet. for acclimation, i was usually with all my coral temp acclimating and then dripping, doing another temp acclimation, dip, then rinse and in the tank, i've heard and read many times on here though that after a coral is shipped, it's worse to leave the coral in that water for a drip since it has already sat so long in the bag. i temp acclimated, tested for salinity, was within .001, dipped, rinsed, put in the tank. The other one is doing just fine, mouth is closed, accepted food.

^this looks fine to me with the exception of the receding tissue along the edge, was it like this when you got it? the mouth looks totally fine IMO..

Yeah, both the coral are showing that, i'm hoping after a few weeks that will come back to normal, i've got a little issue with the supplier at this point and won't be going back anytime soon.
