How long before pair become mated?

I have had my b&w occellaris for about a year, and one has grown larger than the other and they swim together, but they have not hosted in anything, however they do "own" the back of the tank. How long can it take before, if ever, they start to lay eggs?

Generally about a year (from everything I've read) but it is not guaranteed. Things like species, husbandry and feeding come into play.
