How long to QT an anemone to prevent fish diseases

Geez turned on the light and the Ben is looking deflated, and it's mouth is wide open discharging black mucus.

I guess time to start treatment. Maybe he was just stressed and discharge zooxanthellae. Very nice looking anemone. Best of luck with him.

Treat for at least 5 days. Even though it looks better doesn't mean the antibiotic has fully eradicated the bad bacteria. A little more antibiotic typically doesn't harm the nem, but not enough in a single treatment cycle could potentially cause more harm or result in the death of a nem -- on some occasions the nem is too weak to fight off the bacteria the second time around.

Put a coffee cup right at the edge of that, see if the anemone will vacate the rock.

Hard to say what the antibiotic may be doing to the items on the rock and ammonia levels.

Worth a shot at least.

Have a sea chem ammonia alert in the tank. Doing daily water changes. Ill try the coffee cup. Id prefer the rock out.

I meant the rock.
Ugh so the anemone was looking good after three doses of cipro, but this morning it's mouth is gaping open. And it looks like it's shedding a little bit. Ugh. Ill keep dosing the antibiotic

Any updated pictures? Have you been siphoning the old water out? How much water have you been swapping for the water change?

I've been taking out five gallons a day. I just raised the temp from 78 to 79. I can take out ten gallons not sure if that will make the difference. The anemone looks significantly better from this morning when I turned the lights on
