Cold, schold - I was wearing shorts when I took these :). Of course it was in the 40's and I thought about going in to get long pants. Heck, when i first noticed it I went out without shoes! Stayed there too. No way I was leaving the action. My wonderful wife went in to get me some shoes at least :).

and a one of the best ones....

All takenn with my 15mm lens on a FF sensor. Basically was from coast to coast. Actually, it was about everywhere :).

You lucky son of a....

That view is definitely a bucket list thing for me, and not just to photograph them. I just want to stand there and watch.

yeah, this place isn't for everyone but it sure is the place for me. This was a good display. Quite nice since the past few years have been sort of quiet.

Then, this dude rolls into my yard tonight :). Got some great photography in this weekend and never even took the gear of my property :)!

LOL, the Aurora of the porcupine :).

yeah i still remember the forst time I saw the aurora. It was just a faint simple light green arc and it blew my mind. Then the second night was a little more active and I was in awe. Since then I've seen displays that far rival those, but i still am in awe when it cranks up!

I was stationed in Fairbanks in the 80's...... Alaska is definitely in its own place.... So much beauty in nature....

...you're pretty darn lucky! Obviously know what you are doing though too behind the lens, fantastic shots of the Aurora. :)

thanks guys and gals. Well I'm just back from Denali NP this weekend! Still sorting, but I think I might have an image or two you all will enjoy :).

I was born in Anchorage and it's on my bucket list to come back for a good vacation of fishing mostly Halibut but any will do and to see the lights in person, we get them here in NW Iowa on occasion but they aren't very bright

I don't fish (a rarity up here in these parts) but I have heard the fishing was pretty off the hook this year up here!

Wow, brilliant photos there! I bet that was fantastic to witness!

It is almost hard to grasp it's just so immense and spectacular. I heard there was an awesome display this weekend but I missed it :(. Didn't even look at the activity since I was in a continuing education class and getting up early all weekend, uck.

Here's an older pic (I've posted before but some of you may not have seen it) that I have in my photobucket account of a really nice display. This was taken from my front yard :).
