How many clowns in 80g tank?

How many ocellaris clownfish is comfortably doable in a 80g tank if they are the only fish in there? This is a SPS tank so it has primo water params at all time. I'm thinking of going all clownfish the way Mobert has ;)

I personally would only do one pair. Mobert is the exception to the rule. Odds are good that once a pair does form they will go after the remaining clown.

Mobert is an inspiration, but his clowns were all born and raised together-they've never been seperated a day in their lives. I agree that a clownfish-filled tank is amazing to look at, but it's almost impossible to achieve unless you have access to extremely young clownfish (i.e., you raise them yourself).

main pair 4 years old, all from ORA.]
the female did rejected one juven(which is not in the pic)
but all 5 live togather peacefully.

I got my Percs from Robin aka Fingerwrinkles in the East Bay (Lafayette). He also has regular ocellaris and black and whites. I would start off with more than you need and sell the excess.

thanks mona. I contacted Robin already to see if he has any ocellaris available =) I love buying local healthy bred fish =)

I normally advise just one pair too, but recently have seen a few rule exceptions, Mobert is one, and there is a guy from Brazil on here w/ a large # of saddlebacks.
A friend has a 60g cube loaded w/ saddlebacks and percs, not sure how many, but as soon as I saw it I expected probs, but they do seem to be doing OK.
I notice pecking/keeping in check almost always, and wonder if any die that don't get noticed, but I don't see torn fins and such as I would expect.
A local breeder here says if more than 3, there seems to be less probs, one dom fem, a male, and many sub/non sexed males from my understanding.

I was talking to Robin, I think I'm going to put my current clowns into a frag tank, and go with a group of babies from Robin.

It'll be about 4 months before they're ready. In the meantime I'll just stock with some SPS =)

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'm going to try out mona's method with a group from robin. If that doesn't work, there's no way =) I'll probably have an update in 4 months ;)

I just got back from the Moat here in Sarasota, and they have a neat cube tank setup with a big bta, and probably 8 percs in their. There was no noticeable pecking, but i was only their 2 minutes...
