I'm having a bit of a hard time trying to figure out what size harem of Lyretail Anthias I should go for in my 36x36 150 Cube... 3? 5? 7?

I would start with 3. Once you have an established harem, one in which your male has total dominance, you can add more. I use my lyretails as what I call my background fish. Everyone else is sorta dotted in the picture while the majority of color are lyres. The number you put in is what you think is most pleasing to the eye and what you think your bio-load can handle. You want that color to be the background, you add more, if you feel you want them to only sort of be dotted in and not the background color of the tank, do fewer lyres.
