How much would you pay for a mertensii?

I was lucky that my first merten's was a nice mustard yellow color. There was nothing better than watching my orange skunk pair body surf from the back of the tank to the front, gliding over the little waves in the anemone.
I agree that they are one of the easier anemones to keep. In addition they seem to ship very well. I have no idea why. It may be that there are only a couple collectors shipping them out and they happen to have the "shipping anemones" thing down. I have a retailer in my area that brings in his own anemones. He rarely loses any(gigantea included) to shipping stress. He attributes his success to keeping the anemones at his facility (in Indonesia I think) for a couple months before he ships them over here.

Yeah. I would never consider paying anywhere close to $100 for one. I think the last one I saw in Southern California was $60(?)

The bad thing is that if you're looking for a mertensii, you're forced to grab the first one you see, at what ever price they're asking, because it may be many years before you get another chance.
