I really can't stand the teenagers on here that post every day and give advice like they have years of experience. Some of their advice and comments are simply wrong. By the way, I'm 41.

Not to say that there are some teenagers that don't know what the heck they are talking about, there are some very intelligent teenagers who really do their research and know their stuff. I don't think you have to be 41 in order to give sound advice on a daily basis. Sure, there are some things that only come through experience, but most situations have either been discussed on here before or are in books. Who knows, if they are reading and learning from some of the very intelligent and reliable sources on here, then why not listen to them? I know that there are probably some teenagers who want to post just to be a smartass, but I don't think that's the majority. Plus, I think its great that they want to help out fellow reefers and try to do their best to respond to questions. There are a lot of memebers who probably know the answers but are too lazy to respond...

Sorry, getting off track.... I'm 22 btw, reefing since 17

well sometimes the teenagers have been into the hobbie as long as yourself :) Im 24 and have had a Saltwater tank since I was 11 thats 13 years. And have also owned and opperated a sucessful saltwater store. So age really dont matter sometimes. Sometimes the kids know things we may not. But on another note i do have to agree with you people should not give advice if they cant back it up unless its opnion based.

Nope, not reading into that.... just stating that you don't have to have 50 years of experience in order to give sound advice on a daily basis....

I think we’re starting a generation war. Definitely not what the OP intended.

Young or old everybody brings something to the table, whether it's good or bad, someone is always waiting in the background to jump in and correct any faulty information and put that person in place.

Last post for me here: There are at least 15 members here who post almost daily with little experience preaching like they know it all. (I am not getting into it by posting user names). Most still act like newbies, buying fish every other week and losing fish every other week. They present themselves as experts when their comments reflect otherwise.

I am no expert but have not lost a fish in over two years and the ones I have are plump, healthy and growing. I don't medicate otherwise healthy fish, mix fish that are not compatible, place fish in my DT without proper QT, or ignore tank capacities. I must be doing something right.

I have amphipods older than some of these teenagers. :D

You don't have to be a teenager to be a newbie. I don't think that your comment about teenagers was all that accurate. I now a lost of people post stupid advice and I doubt that they are all teens. I see alot of smartass replies on here and I know that they don't all come from teens. BTW I am 24.

I have 50 years of experience and sometimes I don't even like my own advice.

Let's all just be friends here =)

We were all at a novice level at one point. Alot of ppl are complaining only about teens but what about the older ppl who do the same?

I'm not all that old, only 31, but this is a question that is already starting to stump me sometimes. At least I think I'm 31???..
