I dont think that the stupid responses are from teenagers at all. For the most part, kids with reefs either share it with a parent that knows what they're doing(like me). I have also seen many teenagers that have reefs that are in college or grad school getting a degree in biochemistry or something else along those lines. In that case, they are probably just as knowledgeable as anybody else could be.

Everyone has their own way of doing things and many different ways work. I often wish I was a teen again when I did know everything because life was easier. Damn real world. 29 almost 30, feels like I'm still 18.

I'm not all that old, only 31, but this is a question that is already starting to stump me sometimes. At least I think I'm 31???..
yeah after 30 I need to do the math when someone asks how old I am:)

Last post for me here: There are at least 15 members here who post almost daily with little experience preaching like they know it all. (I am not getting into it by posting user names). Most still act like newbies, buying fish every other week and losing fish every other week. They present themselves as experts when their comments reflect otherwise.

I am no expert but have not lost a fish in over two years and the ones I have are plump, healthy and growing. I don't medicate otherwise healthy fish, mix fish that are not compatible, place fish in my DT without proper QT, or ignore tank capacities. I must be doing something right.

Your signature even says you only have 3 years expierience. About the same as me, and Im 27. So I really don't see what age has to do with it, or see your point.

Those oldies that hate teenagers, how can they forget that they passed through that age too. And that they most likely behaved the same way that they hate now. I am 23 and been in the hobby for more than a year but every now and then I seem to be learning something new.

Iam a day older than yesterday and a day younger than tomorrow.. and iam not sure how old i am as all my dinosaur friends have passed away so i cant ask them and i remember someting about dirt being created when i was little but iam not sure

that has nothing to do with your age, is more a matter of what you are smoking

i agree with luther in saying that its years of experience and not age, im only 16 and have been into reef tanks since I was 8, not that I remember much of it. Regardless I have been key in supporting a reef tank for at least 2 or 3 years

I believe the accuracy of the advice being given means a whole lot more than the age of the person giving it. JMO

18.

You don't need 10+ years of experience to tell someone how to solve an issue. I've probably amassed more knowledge in the past 4 years than many have in those 10+ years. BTW, if you haven't done the math, I started when I was 14.
