How to be sure clean after QT?

Hi all,

Anyone have any input re; how to be sure a fish is clean after QT?

I have a chevron tang in QT now. It's doing great, but I don't want to jump the gun and add it too soon and introduce disease to my clean system.?

From what I've gathered 2 wks is good for QT, but that seems a bit quick to me?

I've been through the - ICK!, remove all fish and hypo them exct... story. My CBB, true perc pair, maroon pair, watchman and 6 line have all been clean for a year plus, I don't want to get my existing fish sick.....................

keep in qt for 3-4 weeks, i usually go for 3 weeks, in that time usually a disease will put up

One month is the general minimum recommendation for quarantine, assuming that the fish eats well from day one, doesn't show any sign of disease, behaves appropriately, etc. If anything seems wrong with the fish, the coutdown doesn't start.

i agree,,a month is average min..never heard 2 weeks b/f.
i would say a month if pre-treated and 6 weeks if not just to observe.
as i would recommend you wait 6 weeks after the last signs if disease/parasite were observed anyways.

Well the chevron in in question got a 6 week hypo as a preventetive along with transition time on both ends of the hypo.

It went into the display last night. So far so good, but I'll try to update, good or bad.

It looks super happy now (fingers crossed).
