How To Breed Tangs???!

I think we are a few years away from breeding tangs in our basement. But hopefully aquaculture facilities will start working on it now. I think the Gem tang would be a great fish to start with due to its high price right now.

The Oceanic Institue has been working on breeding yellow tangs now for the past decade and just now were able to get a "few" to live long enough to drop and start acting like fish. I wouldn't hold your breath in having success breeding tangs. After all they are a institution with extremely qualified and smart people working on this and they just now after 10years can claim success

While I in general agree that it is likely difficult, I do not believe institutions are generally doing better than highly motivated hobbyist.
There are many examples where hobbyist have led the way.
So I wouldn't be discouraged trying.
Also sometimes ignorance is bliss.
