how to frag a duncan

I have a Duncan that is really big I would like to Frag to make it smaller. The heads look pretty close together. So was wondering how to Frag it.

You want each stalk to be about 3/4 of an inch. New heads form right on the lip of the existing head. If all your heads are still really close, make sure your calcium is good and start hand feeding mysis to help growth. We just use side cutters or wire clippers to snap off the stalks as close to the base as we can at the LFS I work at. We then stick the stalks in the sand and let the skin heal. Its almost as easy as fragging SPS.

I use a dremel ,less chance of breaking the stalk . Any pics with the heads closesd so we can see how tight they are? I also prefer using marine putty to attach to a rock so it stays stable.

Not a fan of the dremmel because of friction and potential accidental cuts made by the other side or flat surfaces of the wheel... Haven't split a stalk yet with the cutters. *knock on wood*

Wait. Maybe you use a different attachment, kingfisher. Or maybe you just have mad skills with a cutoff wheel.

Either case, closed head pics would be super helpful.

I use the Inland ReefKeeper saw. It isnt cheap but will cut through a Duncan skeleton like hot butter.

have wondered the same thing when closed it is just a bumpy ball not really a stalk to clip off it is growing well and adds new heads often the ball just keeps gettin bigger
