I have trying to keep six line but every time I bought from Lfs , the little fellow does not survive a week and it is dead .

I am running bare bottom , could that be the reason or what should I feed him with?

Do you make sure he eats at the store before you take him home? Personally sixline is one of the easiest fish to keep with minimum maintenance and no aggression issues. It does need hiding places and I have seen it make "cocoons" while sleeping in the night in the sand. I have always had sand bed so I really can't answer whether they require it to survive. But I would recommend at least observe them eat at the store before purchase. Also do you have other wrasse or aggressive fish in the tank to cause trouble?

My tangs never bother the six line, but I also did have six line in there before the tangs. And I must add the tangs have been a-holes to all fish added after them. So depends on your tangs' disposition they can get aggressive and stress out the wrasse, especially if there isn't any place to hide.

Personally, I won't recommend a 6 line to anyone...they can be aggressive to new fish and are a PITA to remove...try another wrasse but forget the 6 line

6-lines do not need sand to sledp in so bb is good. Just need caves so they can hide at night and make their cacoon.

I currently have two 6-lines in my tank. 1 male and the other is a female. My males is as stupid as they come so i dont get aggresive zctions from him and the girl is small compared to the melanerous wrasse that was jyst added 2 weeks ago. However, i do believe that they are hit and miss with aggressiveness.

I wouldn't recommend as well. There are lots of other cool wrasses out there with better temperaments. You could have a rogue tang that just doesnt like any 6 line. I have seen that happen before. I had a blue tang that killed 2 different diamond gobies. Anything is possible.

I must have really dumb luck with six line wrasse. I have kept several over the years and NONE of them are ever aggressive. the only reason they have died in the past though was jumping
