How do I make my Red Prostrata red? I've had mine for several months, its fully encrusted onto the frag plug/rock around it, its currently green with some red here and there, I've seen pictures of Red Prostrata's and they are REALLY RED, what are their requirements? ie, lighting, parameters, etc? Mine is currently under 150 watt HQI 14k DE Phoenix and pretty high up there.

That's a good question ! I have a large red planet colony that's very red, and a large red prostrata colony that's brownish. I have the red prostrata high in my tank, right under a 250w MH. I have notice branches growing away from the center of the light are turning red.

Where is your in your tank ? What type of lighting do you have ?

Check your phosphates and nitrates. Mine go through periods of brownish red and periods of a lighter pink but for the most part it looks like this.

This, great water quality is the secret to keeping colorful corals. They may change color under diffrent light or even look "better" under different lights but with out great water quality for several months in a row a lot of them will be and stay brown.
