I just purchased a ricordea and don't like the little piece of live rock that it cam with. How can I move it to another piece of LR without damaging it?

The foot of the ricordea can be easily damaged. Often they will attach themselves to a rock of their choice if left free.

I would just glue the little piece of rock that its on to the LR where you want it to stay.

If you do cut it loose ricordias can also be a bugger to re-attach. I had one floating around for months that just didn't want to attach to anything no matter what method I used to postion it. I eventually lost it!!! (litterally...something pushed it into the current and it vanished) Maybe it had a damaged foot, not sure.

Anyway...you may want to consider just chizzling off a piece of the LR he's attached to and then glue that piece of rock where you want it. But be warned...it my just decide to drop off that piece if it doesn't like its new spot. :)

When I fragged my rics, that's how I did it...chizzle the rock just beyond the foot.

I've used the chisel method before as well. You just need to start a good 1/2" away from the ric's foot and angle the chisel at about 45 degrees or so and give it a few gentle taps with the hammer. If the rock breaks under the ric, be careful no to tear the ric.
