How do you get a 12" wide bta off a rock it's been attached to forabout 1.5 years? Tickle it's foot!! I just spent 20 minutes tickling the foot of my anemone to remove it from a rock. This after trying to irritate it with a powerhead for another 20 minutes. This bta was a pita.

Best way i feel really is to pull the rock and cut the rock near the foot and just remove that small piece of rock. I use tin snip to cut the rock. But then again i have the proous pukani stuff. so easy to do.

Many differentent ideas and most jjst seem to PO the nem....

I would take a bucket with tank water in it and pull the rock out and turn it over in the bucket suspended upside down the BTA will fall off give it time .

+1 to Powerhead and +1 to hanging upside down.

I saw several people use a powerhead (not blasting) but enough that the nem would be forced to move. Took like almost an hr/2hrs but the nem moved on its own. Well it loosened it's grip and he was able to remove it with ease after.

I generally will remove my BTAs the old fashion way...I use the round end of a large zip tie and slowly/carefully attempt to peal the edges of their foot until I can peel it completely off the rock....of course, this is based on being able to get to the foot. I have tried the powerhead a few times without success...

in fact, my nems LIVE within inches of my MP10 and haven't moved in over a year...

I've used the ice in a ziploc bag method as well. It'll loosen just enough for you to gently slide your fingers underneath it.

time....they will move till they are happy. Also don't be changing light or flow as that will kepp them moving likely.

Feeding may help them stay to.

pull the rock out of the water flip it so that the anemone will try to escape back to the water... this is how i did it and the anemone still alive and happy. and i don't think that 10 seconds will stress an anemone:p
