I removed the clam and inspected, there are some (about 10 or so pyramid snails). I have remove them all ... how can we now that they(pyramid snail) are all removed?

Hi,
Get a new toothbrush and clean the shell till it shines. : )
Squamies are the most difficult to clean ,so check it out carefuly before placing it back.
However, if ya alerady saw 10, ON the clam, you probably have more around it, start inspecting the clam more often, and get some natural predators, like a 6 line or a yellow coris (H.chrysus).

thanks for the reply

I have scrub the the crab out of the clam and FW dip for about 3 min( not sure how long I have to dip).

I'm also have a six line wrass in the tank.

I will inspect them more today and more scrubing ...

Has anyone actually seen the snails in the bottom of the bucket after a freshwater dip?I think they just close their little doors till they are safe in the tank again.I use a dental pic for the scutes.I have found pyramids in the scutes with the pic, but none were visable.I have yet to find any on the byssal.

How does these snails atack the clams?

I found a lot over my astrea snails but i didn't find anyone over my squamosa

where to look? only over the shell?
