How to replace bracing with plexiglass

Hello i was wondering how would i replace the black brace on my 55g tank with a peice of plexiglass? i want to know because there is a darkspot right underthere because of the brace. Thanks

Many people have done this. Generally they use a clamp to hold to tank from bowing, cut the black brace out, then add the plexi/acrylic brace using nylon screws/nuts.

cool thanks. should i empty my tank halfway or anything?

I guess it woudn't hurt, but you should be ok clamping the top from front to back and going that route.

Home Depot carries them, and I imagine that Lowe's would also.
