I have two galaxy clarki clown fish with marine ich that I cannot catch a move and quarantine i have been treating with Dr G's anti parasite caviar, anti bacteria caviar, d wormer caviar, and metronidazole doesn't seem like any of this is working

To my knowledge there is no effective way to treat ich in a reef tank without removing the fish. Feed regularly, keep your hands out of the tank and stress levels down and hope for the best. There is no maricle cure, just a lot of snake oil.

If you truly want to treat your tank of ich then you will need to remove all of the fish, QT them and go fallow in the tank for a specified amount of time.

There is no way to successfully eradicate Ich without removing the fish. You can "manage" the problem via nutrition, but it will never completely go away.

Two clowns shouldn't be that hard to catch; have you tried a fish trap?

+1...are they the only fish in the tank? Or only fish 'showing' ick? (so far)

This is probably the most common question on this forum section. As others have said; you cannot cure ich in a reef tank. Ich is a parasite and you're just throwing ineffective meds that should not be in a reef tank at them. If you can't/won't use a QT/HT....this may not be the hobby for you. You have a real possibility of losing all of your fish if you don't treat them. Then use a QT with all new fish (I'm sure you've heard this) and you'll never go through this again.

Just why can't you quarantine these fish? There are fairly easy ways to catch them.

IS it a reef tank?

The OP doesn't appear to have said it's a reef tank. If it's fish only then hypo in the display might be an option.

I have had success with a vortex xl diatom filter, on two seperate occasions over a three year span. Both times was after I introduced a new fish with out having a qt and both times the powder brown tang was the first to show signs of ich. I started running the diatom 24/7 for four weeks and never had a breakout on my other tangs. And this is on a 300 gallon fowlr. I can also say that it's not a fix all and the best practice is to go fallow and qt every time, I eventually lost my entire tank to velvet. Good luck.

A diatom filter likely does the same thing a UV sterilizer does - help to reduce the parasite load to levels that the fish can keep in check but not eliminate the problem.

What he means is he eventually had such a bad break out of ich, it took out his tank, and there was so much ich it looked like velvet...

I'm sorry, but I had to.
