I am what one would call VERY NEW at this saltwater thing. I have kinda jumped in head first a little too quick though! How do I look? Any suggestions? </a> <a href="http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/bodypiercer/aquarium/?action=view&current=Picture020.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/bodypiercer/aquarium/Picture020.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> also i've learned that these anemones aren't so good. How do you suggest getting rid of them? </a><a href="http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/bodypiercer/aquarium/?action=view&current=Picture001.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/bodypiercer/aquarium/Picture001.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> any help would be awesome, So thanks in advance, Luc

my suggestion would be to return the foxface, and remove that rock with all the pests all over it, and nuke them with kalkwasser paste ot lemon juice or something equally potent. otherwise, it looks nice!

Unless you have a larger tank for your rabbit fish I would suggest you trade him at your lfs. He will out grow your tank and not be very happy:)

Do I see barnacles and a flame scallop? Correct me if I'm wrong, but neither of those tend to do well in captivity as far as I know.

I thought those "anemones" were another kind of aptasia....

If they are green frilly mushrooms I will be happy...cause I have them all over my tank, but they are not colonized like mushrooms would be, they are randomly scattered.

well i looked up frilly mushrooms and those look absolutely nothing like these. It does look very much like the aptasia though. What a bummer. From what i can tell it says that the best methods of getting rid of them are either feeding them calcium directly, or purchasing some peppermint shrimp. If i did the shrimp, then would it move on to the coral frags after the aptasia is gone? Or would i just be better off with the calcium method? </p>
<a href="http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/bodypiercer/aquarium/?action=view&current=badanemones.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/bodypiercer/aquarium/badanemones.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

kalkwasser, not calcium. mix kalkwasser into a thick paste and use a syringe to direct it in the face/mouth of the anemone.

peppermint shrimp may or may not eat aptasia anemone, but they don't bother coral IME.

majano....I have never heard of that. So, do they hurt anything to have them in the tank. I have them randomly around mine, and wondering if they are worth the effort of trying to get rid of.

agreed

well i went to my LFS today to get some peppermint shrimp and joes juice combo. but naturally they were out of the shrimp and didnt carry Joe's Juice. But he did carry Aiptasia control made by Blue Life. I figured what the hell. After all the researching and staring into my tank i did see a few things that did look like that anyhow. So i purchased it and used it now. everything seems to be going fine. The Majano's all seem to be shrivelling up and turning into what looks like a spot of calcium. It was really easy to use and doesn't appear to have harmed anyhting near it at all. So far...Success!!
