hurricane sandy..

wind is whipping right now in lindenhurst. a big limb from my backyard tree gave way and is now laying on the kids jungle jim. keeping my fingers crossed

My street looks like a war zone. Trees and power lines down everywhere. 8 hours no power. Time for a new hobby. The camels back is broken.

Lost power at 820pm..... Ups kicked in, generator up and running in 15 minutes.... And the ups was not happy..... Good thing this ups had a sensitivity button on the back... All is well as long as it does not start to rain.... I have no cover for the generator....

I haven't had power since about 4pm yesterday. Roslyn got walloped pretty good. The southern side of Port Washington (where I work) is completely fine. I'm actually at work now.. At least there's power here and I can charge my phone (and keep busy).

My battery back up is still running, knock on wood... But idk how much longer it's going to last. This hobby is a bear sometimes....

Good luck to everyone else out there!

John that's horrible news about Mike, heard anything south of Sunrise was bad.

The aquarium has a generator so they should be fine but will try to get an answer from Joe.

I finally got a generator and will probably be on it the rest of the week, temps dropped to 69 before the generator.

Still no power at my house in lindenhurst.THAT SUCKS about Mike. This has ben a bad week and its not over yet.

Sorry to hear about Mike :(

Larry had storm surge flooding that nearly topped over is basement windows, I thought he would have been far enough inland not to see the surge :eek1:

Sorry Mike that really sucks :(

Power just came back on; been without since the storm first hit. I had to drive upstate to buy a generator since none were to be found here.

Now that I'm in the clear - if anyone needs a genny let me know. You'll need an SUV or similar vehicle to transport it, she's a beast.
