Hybrid Onyx perc with Black Ocellaris

Just kidding Sanjay:D , please don't be offended.
Some of the names "we" call the corals are just out of this world sometime. Your explanation seem to make lots of sense. Your works on the light are great and very useful. Thanks

Ah.. found the thread that I was looking for.

Here is updated pics of the pair in my 55G tank. These are a year old now.

Are these two hosting anything?

The reason I ask is because of any color loss they might have from hosting an anemone. I remember some people saying that their onyx would lose their color when hosting bta's but if removed the anemone the onyx color would come back.

I also want a pair of these. What was the price you saw on LA?

Are you selling any of these direct Sanjay?

These 2 are actually hosting in a sebae anemone.

The mother which is a true onyx, is hosting in a RBTA and has not lost any black color.

I am not selling direct. The only ones that ever got sold direct were at a Manhattan Frag swap.

Just check divers den. That is where I got mine, and they have a pair every 3-4 days.

I heard that the male had died Sanjay? Is this not true or just hype to up the value?

Yes, the male is dead. There is no hype here.

I now have the female paired with one of its young, and they spawned for the first time last week, but the eggs were all eaten. I am hoping they spawn again. This will also provide further evidence on the fertility of these fish.

ok so from everything ive seen hybrids in the same complex are usually fertile. also the hybrids of melanistic polymnus and sebea, f1s are dark but their f2 offspring are even darker. something to do with a strengthing of the melanistic gene.

a nice dark all black fish with no stripes would be sweet looking, any takers on making this happen??

or how about a a black photon hybridized with a white stripe maroon clown, that would look sweet!!

man all this clownfish breeding and stuff reminds me of my ball pythons,, everyone's trying to make new designs or colors lol should be cool to see the new clownfish, or what other type percula someone creates..

Very glad to hear that the line will live on. I have a pair that are adorable and will soon get their own tank.

Sanjay - how are they taking to BTA? Any nem suggestions for them?

As you can see from the picture below.. the hybrids are fertile !. This a pairing of the original mother with the hybrid offspring.

Nevermind. I read your article again and got the information I wanted to know. From the picture, the black Ocellaris got to be one of the most beautiful black Ocellaris I ever saw. Sorry that you lost him.
