Hydra 52 Or Radion G3 Pro

In my 93 cube I just installed 2 hydra 26's. I have seen good results with sps so far with the hydra 52's and 26's. Depending on your demensions you may be able to get away with 1 26. They are pretty powerful little units.

I love my hydra 52 ! I would get 2 hydra 26 and space them out to reduce shadowing.
The Radion has yellow also and with the hydra get more led per $.
Both good company's ! Wish AI would have better ways of placing over tank instead of ext rails. I had to bulid my own to get it horizontal.

for sps dominated, id say ati hybrid or pacsun hybrid. For mixed reef, one of these 3 will be the top dawgs: hydra 26/52, radion pro xr 15/30, or (imo the #1 all led fixture) mitras (but this one is on a whole different price class)

Since all 3 fixtures are comparable, if u want best "bang for your buck", the hydra 52 is the way to go, since its the cheapest of the 3. But remember that it cannot be programmed by itself on a comp, it needs some type of external controller. Both mitras and radion has onbaord controller that can be programmed using comp to run by itself. Ati has a nice contoller included as well.

Youll be happy with any of those choices, theyre all the top contenders in the led world. Each one has its pros and cons. But like all equipment in this hobby, u get what u pay for. The more $, usually the more built in features included.

Note: radion pro g3 has the newest cree led diodes. Others (ati) may not even use cree. If u dont care, then it wont matter to u, if u care, then u should look it up closely and see which fixture has the model of cree diodes u want on it.

I am having this same debate, but more hydra 26 vs xr15. I know psychobowler is a huge AI fan and his 300 is doing great with the 52's. Aquarium depot has Radions over a drag tank and I have personally witnessed sps really coloring up under them with good polyp extension. For me I think Radion wins, just because of the control aspect. You don't have to have a controller. For me that's a big plus. Where the ai needs a director, which sucks or a handheld controller, or an apex can control them.

I think lighting is a personal choice and each person should go with what they are the most comfortable. For me, Radion Pro was the only choice.

awesome inputs and thanks guys. One more question.

Does any of those LED fixtures comes with the moonlight settings?

How did you mount your fixtures? I assume you have a hole cut for the fan ventilation?

Are you using the standard lenses or the wide lenses?

I did mount and built it myself. There are holes for the buttons, screws, and cords only.

The air intakes (built in the side) and fans (exits down) are below the board.

Regular lenses at 70% brightness. 11 hour lighting period.
