I have 3 blue hippo tangs in Hypo QT at the moment that originally had some ich from the LFS.
The Blue Hippos have been in Hypo for 5 days, very gradual salinity reductions, now down to 1.010. Temp is 80. QT tank is 20g with good flow, barebottom, a few plumbing pieces, Bio wheel filter, HOT canister with micron filter and a MJ1200 powerhead. Tomorrow I'll bring the salinity down to 1.009
How long should I keep Blue hippos at 1.009?
4 wks after the last spot?
BTW...the fish are doing great, they seem very vibrant and are eating New Spectrum pellets w/ garlic or selcon and dried nori. Their breathing appears normal and only in a great while one of them has a tendency for a minor itch.
Other than some chromis that I've had, the Blue Hippos will be the first introduction to my new 180g.
Next month I will source some yellow tangs or Lyretail Anthias, any concerns with either of these going through the hypo QT?
