Hello Andrew
Could you please explain the process of "hyposalinity treatment" in your article, that you have used wiith success. Is it suitable for treat in every state of Ich lifecycle? And is there any kind of fish that we should not use this technique for ?

Waiting for your answer,
Thank you.

G'day Tommy,

I have a write up on hyposalinity on my site: Hyposalinity.

Hyposalinity is only really effective during the reproduction (tomonts) and infective (theronts) of the life cycle. It will have no effect on the parasites attached to the fish (trophonts). Once the fish are in hyposalinity, the trophonts drop off and then the cycle is broken and the fish should not get infected again.

Hyposalinity should only be used on bony fish (no sharks or rays). I'm not aware of any bony fish that can't cope with the treatment.

Andrew.
