I believe it is a Haddon Carpet Anemone

I have a Carpet Anemone that I believe is a Haddon. It is light fluorescent green with a deep red mouth. Last night, I fed it a half of a shrimp. I was told to feed it twice a month. I have two Saddle Brown Clownfish that lie in it very still. Please let me know if I'm wrong on the identity. Thanks.

It sure appears to be an S. Haddoni, a bleached one.

Do you know what lights it was under? Are your lights the one in your sig?

I would acclimate it to your lights -- I prefer using 3 layers of window screening b/t the tank and the lights (( supported by egg crate )), and removing a layer every 5-7 days.

I just read on bleached anemones. I feel kind of stupid for purchasing it now. I usually try to read up on things before I make a purchase. Serves me right. Well, after reading about it, I am going to start feeding the anemone every 5 days until his color comes back. Arrgggg!!!!!:sad1:

As long as it is sticky and the mouth is tightly closed, you have already won half the battle. I would be more concerned about those two then it being bleached (( not to say that being bleached is a good thing, just easier to deal with then the other two )).

That sounds like a good plan, just make sure to acclimate it to your lights.

It was very sticky and the mouth was closed. It sure sounds like I have a good chance.

It will be easier for the haddoni to digest if you take that piece of shrimp and chop it up a bit first. It will expend less energy digesting so the net energy outcome is better for it.
