who do i contact about my employer not paying me? They owe me 2 checks from march and corporate wont answer or respond to my calls. I want to quit this job, but i think if i quit then i can kiss that money goodbye, i figure i have a better chance if i am still employed by them

cantact your lokal better bissniss buroe. (my spelling sucks) they helped me out and suplied me with a loyer. she was just out of schoole but ithingk just the tret got me my check and it was for almost $23000

well i didnt think much of it cause they said it would take a while to get me the check, but now i want to quit and i want my money.

buy law they only have 72 hours to get you your check. just call them out and let them know that the more they delay the more it will cast them. in Ca for every day passed 2 weeks the check is 2 as much as the day befor. that is how i got a large check. i don't know hot it is in IL though. i would alsow say get a layer. if it enough money to justify the coast. have them write a letter. you know the type, ither pay or we will brake you knee caps. .... LOL chear up it happens to alot of people. not al employers are good .

oh i know, but this is the second time. the first time my boss and owner of the company was brought on sexual harassment charges by the girls, so he skipped town and shut the business down in a day

well take it as a leson that some people just should not be worked for. i have a father inlaw that is that way. good luck and hopfully you get your money.

If they don't pay you, talk to a lawyer who might tell you what your rights are for sure.

Rgpennell... where are you when we need you? I swear those lawyer guys are always busy when you need them....

better business bureau, and if not baseball bat can take it out on bosses car, then you can get your moneys worth.

By law all they have to do is pay you minimum wage for the hours worked they are labor board can not force them to pay you anything above that. No matter what unless you have a contract.

they owe me money from a check, its nothin more than normal, just work at a different store. i left corporate 3 messages today sayin that i have a lawyer on the case and they have 48 hours to call and work somethin out.

Do you know a lawyer? Some times all it takes it a little reminder coming from a lawyer and they are all over it.. ;)

Labor commission. They probably have a form you fill out, and it may even be available online.

You got married didn't you? Or engaged at least...

It only goes down hill...

Just go in and take something worth what they owe you and sell it to the highest bidder. lol.. The BBB is useless its a subscribed organization that has nothing to do with employer/employee relations. If the sum isnt too much you can sue in small claims wer eif they dont show you win judgement and then hire a collection agency to put lien on him til he pays or sells out either way you get your money.
Third option is start going to his home. Nobody wants their problems following them around.
Mak ehim get a restraining order against you or he pays you one of the 2. Fourth picket the business saying he has refused to pay his employees and treats them unfairly.
Fifth, call the newspapers and the local news. See if you can get a reporter to come out.
Sixth if all else fails block his car in with yours and demand your check.Last but not least if all has failed and you just have had it the baseball bat, just dont get caught and dont kill him.

"Sixth if all else fails block his car in with yours and demand your check."

That would be my first, he can't do crap about it. That is a good idea.

The Dept. of Labor is all you need to contact. This happened to my wife, and the business was very insistent on not paying. The Dept. of Labor almost always sides with the plaintiff and did so in this case. A copy of your time sheet and existing pay stub should be all that you need to win the case. (It’s a fairly simple process).
