Wow. That's quite a compliment. Thank you. I think the colors and shapes are amazing. Mine are more old school--have had them for 3 years or more--real old school.

Great looking chalisis! I am looking to add some to my tank as well, but I want the kind that grow out from the rock to the side, how can I tell which are which? it seems that some grow up and outward and some grow flat..

I am far from an expect on chalices. Given a base to follow, either sand bed, flat rock they plate pretty flat. But placed almost anywhere they start growing along the underlying structure, as to changing direction on growth. I believe they are called chalices because they ultimately like to cup. I have no idea where I got that information. Even when they change direction, it is still a thing of beauty. I think it is extremely majestic and powerful that nature through opportunity, flow and lighting will alter the growing edge directions whether it be up, down, along rockscape or up to the surface.

How in the world do you keep them from stinging each other. My Stunner has massive tentacles at night and stung my Jason Fox Poison Cocktail chalice.

What's the best calc/alk/mag numbers for chalices? Do they do ok in SPS tank parameters?

Example SPS Parameter:
Alk 7-8
Calc 400-450
Mag 1350-1500

the color rendition is goofy on these. The first coral is more pink than purple but the lighting on these two was t5's and reefbrite so hard to correct the blue. The eyes are bright orange which also got washed out--but still cool.





Again could not correct enough of the blue, but neat favia
