I Like My Mantis, What to do?

A mantis shrimp arrived with my TBS rock shipment and after a few attempts, I have yet to catch it. The thing is, I like it now. It's a very interesting creature and I'm wondering what will happen if I keep it in my main tank... I've read what a lot of you have said, but has anyone successfully kept a mantis with other things and gotten away with it? I have a Kole Tang, purplish blennie and an Ocellaris clown in with the mantis, are they safe? They've been OK for 2 weeks now...... I want to keep the mantis and all my other fish, what to do?

I believe that if you keep the mantis well fed he won't bother any inhabitants. The only thing that has been eaten while I tried this is hermits and maybe some snails.

I would be careful with benthic (bottom dwelling) fish like gobies and some blennies... I have tried keeping those with a mantis with no success. Also if you plan on getting shrimp, like cleaners or whatever the mantis will most likely kill and eat them, a general rule is that a smasher will try and eat anything with a shell he can break. But most of the time a mantis with quick fish that stay in the water column is ok.

my lfs has a small one in their main display (200g i think)

just keep an eye on your crab / snail population....

maybe stick feed it when you can...
