i was in the tank everyday moving rocks. and every day i would be unhappy with what i did . soo .. i changed them again and again. then spots apeared more and more slowly though. then i noticed my u v sterilizer was out. i don't know if that helped the ichk im pretty sure it did. anyway i bought kick ich 8 months ago just in case. people that are fish snobs told me it's junk. i even tried to give it to some one that had fish that had ich,he wouldn't take it (fish snob). so my powder blue was full of it on the top of his eye side of his body bumbs, and white spots.

i doubled the directions pluse 1/2 ounce more moved the dose to every 4 days to every 3 days . i only doubled the dose the first day.

i also over fed while the powder blue still had his appitite soaked marine cusine in garlic extrem for at least 10 minutes. i would leve the cubes out then pour the melted run off water from the cube in the tank. then put garlic extrem on it then swriwl it around several times then wait ten min. then feed.

turn off protien skimmer for first two doeses then run protien skimmer for a day then turn off and continue to dose never to turn on again till you finished the directions. then water change..

i also fed nori every few hours. it worked for me it should work for you i hope..

i hope this helps im very happy with what i did. and i prayed

addition to ich,carrots spinich garlic

addition to ich,carrots spinich garlic

im now feeding thinly shaved carrots cut in sections, frozen spinich once a day with cyclopsezz. even my black clown likes the spinich. it's cool i feel like ime making them so healthy i only started this morning but it feels great.

some guy posted about tangs eating write and about there stomachs digestive system; so i woke up and started feeding vegie food. before lots of brine shrimp and nori, and meat, didn't mean too it's just all the frozen junk contained it. that's another thing he talked about fast frozen food! i think he's write. you can find him on nutrition i think i kept meaning to thank him for his post but never did.

oh well! rock on and if you need to get a rabbit fish out of your tank and a naso use a tree barb hook, it works. don't worry there fine ..

invert safe kick ich

invert safe kick ich

it was in my tank over dose and soak in garlic my shrimp were fine i have 5of them. i ended up removing 2 fish to keep the stess of my powder and everthing seems good

I've used the kick ich before and never had a problem with the inverts and/or corals. remember to continue the treatment as per directions even when signs of ick appear to be gone.

No offence but there are plenty of posts where people who use that and similar products lose fish to ich ... pretty safe to say that product is "inconsistent" if nothing else. To make matters worse many who claim success acknowledge later that they have subsequent ich infestations on "stress events" which makes it pretty clear that the product did not eliminate ich and likely the fish developed their own limited immunity.

If there were any consistently effective reef safe ich treatment the entire aquarium World would know about it .. unfortunately no such product is currently on the market.

On day 9 of using Kick Ick. I'm doubling the dose from what the directions say, and doing it every other day.

My power blue tang still died on day 7. Waiting to see what happpens to the rest of the fish......

I'll post more in a few days.

Exactly....I guess that makes us 'fish snobs':D

Really, why not do it right the first time? Copper and Hypo are the only PROVEN cures...I don't understand why people continue to try these products with all the negative feedback they get..Why risk killing your fish ? Too many people want to take the easy way out.

I guess that's because some tanks are too big and you'd have to tear them down to catch all fish.
Some people also claim that even after QT the fish got ich as soon as added into the display tank.

In the past, I have used kick ick twice. The first time the fish still died of ick. The second time, I double the dose per the instructions and it killed almost all of my corals. Never again! I guess with that product its a hit or miss. So I guess you can gamble, but me personally its either hypo or copper.

Just my two cents. :D

I have an 8', 240 gallon and I would remove the fish...that's no excuse

If the fish are left in qt a full four weeks and healthy, they should be fine...if they are treated for ich with copper or hypo, and placed in the tank a couple weeks after treatments ends with no more outbreaks...the fish should be fine

If your fish break out after proper qt, then its probably some other kind of parasite....and their are many
