my darn good Alltel cell phone took a RO/DI bath today when i was filling up some buckets ,,, just got a new 2 year contract 5 months ago ,,,and the phone is not covered , without a contract re-sign a basic phone is 250 bucks !!! does anyone have a old Alltel cell they will part with ,,,i do have some corals , Berlin turbo skimmer , tide pool 1 sump /w chem trays, Mag 350 that works great ,,,willing to trade ??? i dont want to go drop 250-300 on a new phone right now ,,i just need one to get by until im within 6 months of the contracts end ,,so i can re Sign and get the 2 year deal thing on a new phone ,,,,

Hi,

Did the phone self distruct? If you take the battery off and can open the case to expose the pcb it might dry out OK. RO/DI should not hurt the electronics and some pc board manufactures use RO/DI as a rinse on populated pc boards. If you can't wait try drying the pc board & battery with a hair dryer.

its toast !!!!!! i snatched it up right away ,,,but it went to the bottom of the 5 gal bucket , got the battery out asap , the water mark started to show up on the back of the phone right away , the screen is a big blob ,,, i did dry it out on a plate all day by the heater vent , still a blob screen ,,, makes a weird squealing sound .. it drowned !!!

hey murph, just for future referance, i can get you almost any phone you want for free through altell with a two year contract and knock off 18% on your monthly bill. same with verizon. i work with most of the moble phone companys and the only one i don[t work with is rebel or virgin. as for a nother phone i'll know by tomorrow night if i have a spare

Esquare the HP is for ATT service , but i really thank you for the offer bud ,,i owe you one . and im not a phone geek by any means but in not sure if you can get other services phone re-worked to another carrier ,, say Verizon to Alltel or ATT to Alltel ,,,,,,

it would work you just have to get the phone unlocked.

Did you get a phone yet? my buddy works for alltel and has a couple laying around just let me know if you still need one.
