I need help...having diffeculties with my zoa's!

Not a problem m8, It should be like a family we zoaheads. I was serious when I said it and if the time comes and hopefully it won't then I got you a hook up.......

I stopped following this thread a while back, so I've just read about the troubles you've had with the move Deuce. So sorry! How they looking? Sending your zoas good juju.....

Kam,
Hey girl. Well, only one colony is showing signs of opening. It'll be a few more days before I can tell if they will make it or not.
I might go freshwater if they don't... riiiiight...

wow im really sorry reef junkie! i hope that they open up for you! i'm sure they will!

remember, you got mine to open, so i know your doing everything you can!

Well, it's looking pretty bleak.
It looks like I may lose 90% of my colonies.
Well, I guess i'll have to rebuild, again.

Oh Bill, how awful! *hugs*

Isn't it funny (not ha ha funny, just wierd funny) how we can ship stuff halfway across the world and it survives, yet just moving it a block away can be so catastrophic. I guess its because of new tank set up, ect?

I'd say now is a time for a recall on all the stuff you've shared with buds!

Thanks for your support Kam.

FYI, the tag line above my avatar is saru mo ki kara ochiru
It translates (loosely) to "Even a monkey falls out of the tree"

I'm taking my own advice.

well i'll tell you what reef junkie! if and when i learn to frag...hopefully soon...i'll frag my still living eagle eyes and i'll still take that trip up!

Ah, now you are a gentleman!
I appreciate your gesture, but if you're giving me free coral, I should at least come to you, no?
Lets see in a couple of months.
Thanks!

hey reef junkie, i was wondering if you could tell me how to frag my zoa's or if you know of a very good thread about how to frag zoa's!?!

My zoa's are acting finicky...some are opening some aren't...im thinking that if i frag them, i could see how my zoa's grow apart from the main colony!?!

Let me know...Thanks!

Usually a chisel, hammer, solid surface and a towel is all you need. Strong wire cutters are good for thinner frag rocks.
Just decide where you want to cut and give em a smack.
Don't do it where you might damage the flooring or counter underneath.;)

really i should just take the rock out and sorta smash it in two...i would be afraid that i will kill some of my zoa's...i dont need to take the zoa's off the rock and transplant them just sorat break the rock in 2...

No problem, still use the chisel. It'll make the job go very smoothly. Just chisel the rock where you want to split it.
The zoas will be fine, just make sure you don't put them face down on the ground, that could kill them if you squash em.;)

I use one of these for fragging :)

Someone gave it to me for Xmas, and I didn't have any other use for it. Works pretty good for cutting into the liverock, and easy to rinse off and drip dry.

People look at me strangely when I take it out for fragging though, haha.
