Many of you may know I've been away from my tank but I've been posting my fish related videos

I went to Sea world on the gold coast in Australia (not the same company as sea world in america, just crafty and stole the name)

I thought I'd share my day with you all, it was actually pretty good :)

And I've swum with the sharks too - about 70' down a wall at San Salvador, Bahamas

10-12' Greater Hammerhead

OK I'll play too

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I'd like to hear more about this photo. Tigersharks scare me.

Don't mean to hijack the lass' thread :fun4:

While pursuing my degree in marine biology I did shark research for the University of Miami (Florida USA) in the Bahamas in the late 80's. Spent 10 hours/day for the better part of 3 years catching, tagging, swimming with and tracking large Tigers, Hammerheads and Bulls along with about 6-8 other species...

In the pic I posted, many of the large sharks we caught did not have the gill musculature to oxygenate their blood when restrained, so after doing our scientific muckity-muck we would often need to swim with them to revive them - kind of a "shark-whisperer" before it was fashionable :lolspin:

A pretty spectacular experience for a kid growing up wanting to be "Hooper" from Jaws
