I think I have a problem - A little starting advice & some sympathy please

How about giving the angels to the fish store to put in their 40,000 gallon tank. You could then feel good about their new tank, without making your home the new loft style.

I cannot stand Aquarium world, any place that charges 60.00$ for a 3" piece of liverock with some GSP on it needs to think about not putting a big tank up.... I can tell they are passing along the cost...

Have you been to Fish R Us on 242? There prices seem just as high and they don't even have a big tank for an excuse.

Aquarium World is definitely not a store for the serious hobbyist. But I think they deserve some kudos for how they process people into the hobby. I don't know of any other stores that keep a record of your tank parameters & do the testing for free. I've heard them tell people that they can't add a fish right now because they need to improve the parameters or whatever.

There are some occasional bargains - I bought a large brown montipora for $50 that is turning a nice shade of green in my tank. :)

stopped by the place on 242 for the first time about 2 weeks ago corals were nothing really nice but they seemed to have decent fish prices. None the less I didnt know that Aquarium World had that nice of service I was told once that they had a picasso and a snowflake clown I called to check to see if it was true and the lady told me they had lots... which caught me off gaurd so I called back later that day and was told the only clowns they had in stock were ocellaris... anyway I guess it is on par with most stores... also I am sure alot of the quotations people are giving are based on reeftanks not FOWLR... their large tank everytime I have been there is very dim... so lighting wouldnt be too expensive.... and that amount of water wouldnt need much done to it... anyhow... it is very large and if I make it by there in the 2 weeks I will be in town I will try and take a picture.

Yes the tank is very dim - nothing but fish, not a reef tank -

AW very seldom has anything but their usual stock fish - I think it's maybe because they have trained their employees about those fish & what to tell customers about which fish they can have with which others etc. But occasionally they'll have a "premium" fish. like last week they had a scribbled angel for $229.

I just bought some powdered red algae full of astaxanthin that I'm all 'stoked' about loading some adult brine with. AW is my closest and cheapest source for live brine so I should also be by there in the next few days.
