I was Wondering

I wanted to know how much light it takes to take good care of zoas and wut you feed them. Cause i have a 15g but im starting my 55g and i just want to start off with like 1 or 2 little zoa rocks and then go bigger ofcourse.

Zoanthids don't require much light. They did great under my T5 Nova Extreme fixture (4x54w on a 55g). I've since upgraded to a Tek T5 fixture so I could keep Crocea clams as well. Zoanthids will do well under PC, VHO, T5 or MH. I don't feed mine anything.

Try putting them where you like them with that kind of lighting and if they don't like it (can take a week or two for everyone to extend and fully open up their polyps) try adjusting them up or down and find where they are the most happy but yeah as peter said they will be fine

I agree that they would probably survive; however they would do much better under more light such as MH or T5. Personally I would put two 175w halides on a 55.

We have a 4x65w PC fixture and a 2x40w NO (T12) on our 90g and our zoas grow well. Their colors aren't the best (ones that should be green are more brownish in color), which is one of the reasons why we're working toward switching to T5 HO. But, they are reproducing and spreading (they are all in the upper 1/2 of the tank). I use to target feed them when we first got them, but I've since stopped now that we have more fish in our tank (everybody's a thief in our tank even if they get fed first).
