Ich-confused!

So have this purple tang in QT for 3 weeks it gets 2-3 spots but they dissipate after a day..this happens only twice..is it ich? Never covered in spots only 2-3 around body.
Dont know if i should treat or not..anyone know?

It is likely ich, and is heavily infected in the gills. You should do TTM to clear them out.

Pictures of the fish with the spots would be nice. Ich can be really hard to spot at first, but treating a healthy fish can cause it unnecessary stress. However, that being said I think it is better to treat the fish because if you wait then it could be too late to treat your fish. Watch your fishes behavior to see if it is scratching or giving you any other signs that it has ich.

Likely ich especially after the time frame you mentioned of 2-3 weeks. Ich will "fall off" the host every 3 days, multiply and reattach

Not with TTM, if done properly no stress involved.

Ick

I woke up this morning and immediately, I noticed ick infestation on my Powder Blue! I have 4 fish total in my 60g reef tank and so far, he's the only one with the ick. I dosed my tank with 1 table spoon of ginger (powder), turned off my GFO and Carbon. Fed my tank with ginger soaked flakes. After 1 hour, I noticed 3 white spots were instantly gone! I guess treating an infestation on early stage works the best!

I am guessing it's not the ginger but because your sushi has the skin removed. :dance:

If it is not causing your fish any reparatory distress, I would just observe.

IMHO, I would go with the previous advise and put him through TTM and clean that QT before putting him back in.
