Just as the topic staes Ich is in my tank, and I have no quarantine available......What can I do to rid myself of this without tearing down the tank. I have been dosing garlic directly to water and to food in an effort to boost immune systems, but with limited succes, what are some reef safe meds, that I can use that works quickly and efficiently......

If there truely was a reef safe med available that would effectively kill Ich and not harm the reef tank it would be one of the best selling aquarium products on the market. Unfortunately there is no such medication.

im on the same boat. the 'reef safe' ich meds dont work. im just feeding heavily with garlic soaked food (making sure the fish are always full) and hoping it helps.

I may have found something that works....Ich X....and I'm waiting for something from marine Depot. Based on my results zoos and polyps unaffected ich is going....also using garlic.....

Why dont you set up a qt tank. IF one isn't available make it so.

Let us know how dumping magic potions works out. I hope you find something that works. That could make petco's tanks possible and every reefers day.

I dont consider what I am doing dumping Majic Potions. In the last week I have read multiple blogs, articles and documents outlining myths, and truths concerned with Ich. I know that these so called potions typically only work in salt water systems. There is a little thing that is called chemical make-up, and once you have an understanding of what these chemicals are, and how they affect organisms in the tank, you become aware of what will and will not work. And how effective certain things will be. Personally speaking based on my live stock and what type of organisms I have in the tank I actually found something that does work. Its actually a combination of two store bought products and natural products. Ich has been free of parasites for last two days. I am still testing as I know the cycle well, and know that if it will resurface it should do so within the next 3-4 days. Im not claiming a cure by any sort, but this works for me......and my system.

As far as the statement about a QT, Im not ignorant, and if I have the assests needed for a "simple" QT one would have been setup already. In my next home, I have began planning my new system which will include a 50 gallon QT. Right now in a Townhouse......it just wont work......

This is not meant as a flame, just stating facts based on my research and what works for me.....even though it seemed to be an insult of my intelligence.

Oh and next time your in Florida.....please take some time to stop by and race my EK........k24 on 30 pounds daily driven :) Have a nice day

Have you tried that Blue Lagoon medicated food? I guess it could be new. I used it for ich and it worked. My clowns and corals are livin' proof. Got it online from premium aquatics.
gotta spread the word! ;)
