Ick

Yup all fish out, and get them treated. I believe they have to stay out for at least 2-3months for your display to be clear.

Feed Selcon on food also put a little spritz of fresh oranges on their food. Broccoli tops crushed also help depending on fish type. I used them 2 years ago on my last outbreak. I think Gary told me to do it.

You don't have to take the fish out if you don't mind containing ick. That means keeping your fish healthy and not stressing them (stress can come from adding new fish). Ick is not a death sentence but if you don't want to have to deal with future outbreaks eliminate it now.

I was about to transfer tank and contents to another tank and even give rock and sand to friend. Should I wait on transferring rock to them

I'm not sure if the ick would survive a transfer or if there's any precautionary measures... wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in

i dont think there is a way to tranfer anything without the ich passing along with it. The tank needs to stay void of fish for the entire ich life cycle. i think most say 72 days. you can give away rock and sand as long as the person you are giving it to does not add any fish to the destination tank for the 72 days. otherwise ich may be in the destination tank.

+++1 ich will be there for up to 7 weeks for its life cycle you can help that along by increasing the temperature a few degree's lots of luck!!!!!!!!!
