ID bleached carpet

Haha if you ask me..they are almost identical. I know the supplier I got mine from. You should ask who they ordered it from next time you go in. Its a pretty large scale distributor.

I wonder if they know/understand the different kinds of Carpet anemones and how their Care varies. These specimens are in obvious poor health, if you know what poor health looks like.

For all I know it could be a Guy with a list and a "shopping cart" and just grabs an anemone from a tank of 50 carpet anemones. I'm not claiming to be an expert by anymeans, but in 20 min you can easily Google carpet anemone care and find examples of what anemones should and shouldn't look like ie..open mouth, inflating/deflating continuously, rejecting. Food etc..

All I know is there were 3 carpet anemones 2 gigantea and a haddons. They were invoiced as assorted color carpet anemones. Not classified at all.

By the way...you can see on the left side of the anem where he is sucking his thumb. That same fold stays at his mouth constantly !! Lol.

Same distributor. That's what I ordered it as.. shoulda ordered 3... lol

I need to geta pick of mine doing that its so funny...

I feed mine a small chunk of salmon soaked in selcon every other day. By small chunk i'd say about 1/2" x 1/2" maybe a little bigger....he gobbles it up. I am sticking with just salmon for now until he colors up some more. I had been feeding him squid, but i think he's liking the salmon much better.

FTS for those interested

Had to make room for big blue so somethings are out of place

They both look alike. Glad to see they are both doing well. I didn't know you could feed Salmon to these guys. Interesting! Is that fresh or cooked? I would imagine fresh, eh? So....what othe rmarine life can you feed salmon to? BTW.....your anemones are still very beautiful.

It's fresh salmon soaked in selcon. I would assume anything that eats meaty food as opossed to vegetation would eat it.

Looks good! Tentacle extension is better. And it looks like it's got some color now. I'm curious to see what the final color will be once the zooxanthellae population is back.

oh yeah the clowns love it...they jumped into it 30 seconds after it was in the tank...the quickest i ever had clowns take to an anem !! had to separate them for the first couple weeks while the anem de-stressed a bit !!

Man its been what.. 5..6 weeks? cant believe it.. sorry i havent been on in ahwile but i got some pics. it is starting to get some dark color around the edges more.. although the middle is still white.

you can see here its mouth is closed nicely

btw i do use the NeoZeo dosing method.. im interested to see the results in comparison to yours!

I don't use neozeo. Yours really is keeping the bright blue and mine is turning a more turquoise color. They are both darkening the same as mine is getting darker around the outside too. However the part closer to the light isn't darkening like parts farther away from the light??? I raised my light a bit and lowered the intensity a little to see if that helps any.

Once it regains its zooxanthellae and adapts to the lighting, you won't have to worry about intensity. In the wild they are found in 6' or less of water...
