ID Please from a dive trip..

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of fish these are (the black and white striped ones)? I'm thinking they are some sort of damsel, but not positive. It seems like they have more stripes than similar damsels. I took this picture on a dive trip to the Great Barrier Reef a few years ago, and would like to recapture this scene for my aquarium..

Kinda looks like a sergeant major damsel.

looks Similar to sargent major. The one's I've seen have more yellow on them, but not positive. If you like a fish that gets large for a damsel and is very territorial then its a great choice.

It's a Sargent major but there older ones when they get old they darken up in the wild

How big is your tank? Sergeant majors get pretty big for a damsel and I'm guessing they're pretty feisty.

+1 The "sargent major" group gets pretty large for damsels and are not the nicest fish in terms of aggression.

If you have a very large tank, and want to keep only those - they will work out just fine. Having been caught in the middle of a school of them during a feeding frenzy, I would suggest something a little more mellow. Maybe an undulated trigger or two.
