ID / Removal Help - Hydriod/Aiptasia

I am looking for help IDing and removing these guys, I believe they are a form of hydroid. They are about 1/8th inch tall and starting to get out of control.

I have tried peppermints, file fish, sea hare, hermits, aipasia X, joesjuice, and a 45 second fresh water dip.

I am about to try some form of iodine and or peroxide dip but am leery and was hoping to get a little help here before I go down that road. Like how much, how long, try both or maybe just one, specifics if anyone has any experience with these.

I could be wrong, but to me they kinda look like a harmless feather duster worm colony.

How do they react when touched? (don't try bare handed please.)

They just shrink/close up like zoa or aiptasia...

Those aren't hydroids or aiptasia. It's a coral - likely some form of briarium or anthelia.

I agree- briarium.

It looks like they're growing on a mat. If they're like other forms of briarium I've encountered, you might be able to peel it off.

You guys are right, looks like Briaium...now how to get rid of it. My research has led me to believe they are not harmful BUT they will compete/outcompete other corals for space. And they are ugly.

Some areas look like they might be on a mat, but other areas are definitely not. I want to or need to pull the individual rocks out but once i get them out i am not sure what to do. Right now I think my best choice is a small chisel and hammer but I am still looking for help.

a sharp knife will work but if you scrape them off it's likely some small pieces will remain attached to rock and regrow. If there is nothing else on that rock you want to save you could kill it with an ammonia spike (outside the tank).

Yeah, you might have to just give up on the rock or let it sit in the sun for a month. I've tried for years to root out the last of some GSP I put in my tank a decade ago. It still creeps in occasionally and acts nonchalant, hoping I won't notice.
